Abdominal Therapy

I use a combination of abdominal therapy and visceral manipulation to address discomfort, tension, and restrictions in the body. The benefits can generally be grouped into three areas: Digestion, Reproductive & Pelvic Health, and Chronic Tension & Overall Wellness.

Digestion

Gentle techniques help release tightness and restrictions around the bowels, supporting:

Reproductive & Pelvic Health

Techniques that increase blood flow, gently reposition organs, and relieve nerve tension can support:

Chronic Tension & Overall Wellness

Restrictions in organ movement can affect the rest of the body. This therapy can help:
Your first session lasts about 2 hours, starting with a consultation to review your health history and your goals for the session.
The bodywork portion is approximately 90 minutes, focusing on the abdomen, back, and hips. Depending on your needs, additional work may be done on the neck, feet, or other areas to help restore overall balance.

Online Sessions

If you’re short on time, you may book an online consultation to complete your health history and discuss your needs and plan of care. Once this is completed, you can schedule a 90-minute abdominal therapy session focused entirely on bodywork. You can also choose a 120 minute session if you would like to add time for other areas to be worked on during your session.

We also offer more extensive online sessions for teaching self-care abdominal therapy to clients who are not local — see details below.

Modesty and Safety: When working on your abdomen, your belly will be exposed but you will remain appropriately draped at all times. Women will receive a breast drape for privacy. All therapy that supports the pelvic floor is external. If you require internal pelvic floor work, we are happy to provide referrals to a qualified pelvic floor physical therapist.

At the end of the session, you’ll receive a personalized self-care routine to practice at home, helping you support your body between sessions. You may also receive guidance on complementary therapies, such as castor oil packs or pelvic steaming, to further enhance your results.

Digestion

For digestive concerns, including bloating, constipation, or sluggish motility, we recommend ideally 2 sessions per month for 2 months. Regular sessions help restore bowel motility and support long-term digestive function.

Reproductive & Pelvic Health

For pelvic pain, menstrual issues, endometriosis, PCOS, or fertility support, we recommend 1–2 sessions per month for at least 3 months. Whenever fertility is a goal, sessions for your partner may also be recommended. Scheduling outside of menstruation and ovulation can enhance comfort and effectiveness.

Chronic Tension & Overall Wellness

For low back pain, abdominal or organ-related tightness, and body-wide tension, 1 session per month is generally sufficient. Some clients may benefit from more frequent sessions when starting out to quickly reduce tension and restore balance.
The self-care techniques are highly effective on their own and can be easily learned over Zoom. With guidance from a trained therapist, you’ll be able to safely practice the techniques at home to support digestion, reproductive health, and overall balance.
